This past Friday, I took the kids bowling at our church, Life Bridge Church (pretty neat, huh?) However, it wasn’t just my four kids, but we had another one too (We? More on that another time). After about an hour and a half of bowling, two games, kids running around chasing each other, and one of them making it his daily goal to copy everything I did, we went home. As I put the kids to bed that night and sat down, I asked myself one thing. Is it time for school yet?
Over the last week or so, we have taken care of school shopping and have begun getting organized for back to school. They know Summer is coming to an end due to this, and the new bedtimes as I get them ready to start getting up early. However, they’ve turned up the crazy in the last week, just getting every drop out of summer they can. Arguing, fighting, just craziness. At one point, I put myself in the corner just to avoid it all (it didn’t work that well).
I remember starting school in August. Friend’s kids have started school already! Yet here we are, with no school. What can you do though, right? What can you do but just sit in your chair and rock back and forth. Well, maybe that’s just me.
Nothing is more important to me than my kids, however some quiet sounds pretty attractive right now, I won’t lie. A moment of peace and quiet that isn’t when I am sleeping. That’s what I’m talking about. A house of four kids while I work full-time from home is amazingly chaotic in the summer. From asking the same question every thirty seconds, to complaining about each other, multi-tasking is a must. The days I am not multi-tasking well? Don’t even ask. You don’t want to know!
